Club Grateful To Volunteers

Over the years the club has been very lucky to have a dedicated group of volunteers who freely give of their time to ensure the club runs efficiently and successfully. These volunteers may be members of the management committee, coaches or parents who assist with coaching and fund raising. Particular mention is made of the coaches who work together as a team to provide quality coaching both at performance and development level.

The coaches have undergone training in various areas on compulsory coaching courses, as well as police checks, training in child protection, risk assessment and first aid.  The coaches also have to undergo an induction process within the club to ensure they have the right training and information to supervise athletes under their care.

This has come about as part of Club Mark procedures to make sure that athletes are carefully supervised by qualified coaches.

Some coaches have been at the club over ten years and are extremely dedicated to the pursuit of athletics in different disciplines.  However, the club is always on the look out for new coaches who are prepared to undertake the necessary training and police checks. Additional coaches are required in throws, jumps and speed disciplines.

If you wish to become involved in coaching athletics please contact the club via the website or any committee member or coach.
