Athletes Enjoy North Of England Road Relays

At Sport City In Manchester

The
North of England Junior road relays were held at sports city on Sunday.
The massive event had a total of two hundred and seventy teams taking part
from all over the region including Lincoln and Derbyshire.
The
u13 girls team from Vale Royal of Robyn Ellis, Claire Perry and Megan
Huxley finished in a very impressive seventh place in a race won by Tameside
and were ahead of top clubs like City of Leeds, Liverpool, Bingley, Sale and
Preston. Megan also ran one of the fastest times of the day.
The U
15 girls of Kathy Stringer Nikki Meadows and Rebecca Craigie were involved
in on of the most exciting races of the day as after nearly six miles only a
fey seconds separated the top seven teams. In a nail biting finish Rebecca
moved Vale Royal from seventh to bronze medal position and finished only
four seconds behind winners Amber valley ( Yorkshire) and two seconds behind
Sale. The girls were delighted with the bronze medal and finish ahead of
clubs like Sheffield, Bingley, Liverpool, Stockport and Morpeth and Hull.
The u
15 boys of Andrew Perry, Eddie Crowther and Alex Bailey finished in twenty
seventh.
The
u17 boys finished in a very good tenth place Zach Cross,Chris Perry and Tom
Heaward finished just one second behind Stockport and were ahead of top
clubs like Border Harriers,Pendle and Blackburn.
Well
done to everyone who took part in the relays and represented the club in a
top class competition.
