Chief Constable Enjoys Presentation Evening Of Vale Royal Athletic Club 2006


Peter Fahy, the Chief Constable of Cheshire Constabulary was delighted to be the guest of the 12th Presentation Evening of Vale Royal Athletic Club where he presented athletes with prizes.

The Chief Constable was impressed with the achievements of the athletes at the club and how the club has impacted on the local community and introduced thousands of athletes to a new sport over the last twelve years.

Michaela Penney was presented with the Millennium Volunteers Award for two hundred hours voluntary coaching at the club over the last 12 months.

Peter Fahy presented medals and certificates to the under 11 and under 13 athletes who contested the Norwich Union Shine Awards for Agility Challenge (Level 2) and Fit Athlete (Level 3).

This was followed by prizes being presented to athletes who had made significant progress and achievements over the last 12 months for various age groups.  The prizes were once again presented by the Chief Constable, Peter Fahy.


David and Jane Lambert were presented with the Club Merit Award for all their efforts on the fund raising committee over the last few years, organising bag packs and Christmas discos etc.  Many thanks to both David and Jane for all their efforts.

Following the presentation of the prizes there was a good luck speech by two councillors from Vale Royal Borough Council to the two athletes, namely Hannah Weedall and Stevie Stockton, who would be travelling to Italy the next day to compete at the World Schools Cross Country  Championships.

At this stage the Chief Constable Peter Fahy and the two councillors from Vale Royal Borough Council were presented with a Vale Royal AC T Shirt each to thank them for their support.  Furthermore, Peter Fahy was presented with a bottle of bubbly and flowers by Stevie Stockton who was voted Outstanding Athlete of the Year 2006.
