Report by Andy Carter:

"I just wanted to say what a great day it was for the club yesterday - we have had success in these relays over the years but this year must certainly rank near the top - we were represented in every race and took 2 Gold medals out of the 8 on offer - which is a great return.

The U13 Boys finished 26th and the U13 Girls matched this with 26th and also 34th

We took our first Gold in the U15 Boys, almost 30 seconds ahead of the 2nd team, Jake got 2nd fastest time, Patrick 7th fastest and Dylan 16th fastest.
The B team came 27th - very soon after the U15 Girls took Gold winning by almost 2 minutes.
Holly was fastest overall, Grace 2nd fastest and Hope 9th fastest - the B team also got medals as the first B team finishing in 9th place.
The 3rd U15 Girls team finished 38th.

The U17 Men came an excellent 4th despite Sam falling at the start - Raif got the 4th fastest time and Ed the 14th.
Unfortunately we did not have a full U17 Women team but good to see Beth and Rebecca still turning out for the club - all good experience.

All of our Senior teams ran brilliantly, the A team finished in 8th place, our best ever position in the Northerns with Chris getting the 8th fastest individual time and 4 of our athletes in the top 75 out of 678 runners.
With the B team finishing in 30th place it looks as though we have 2 mens teams through to the Nationals ( depending how you read the rules - but as our B team finished 30th beating the 25th A team we should be in ).
The C team finished in 79th place with 107 teams finishing.

The Senior Ladies did even better finishing 5th - with Liz 4th fastest overall, Sarah 19th fastest, Holly 27th and Amelia 30th out of 284 runners.
The B team came 13th with Chloe 14th fastest and Sophie 55th.
The C team finished in 43rd out of 69 teams

The relay season continues with the National Road Relays, which will be on Sunday 6th October in Sutton Park in Birmingham - same age groups as yesterday, so make sure that is in the diary!"
