Urgent Request for Officials

At the Cheshire Committee Meeting on 24th September serious concerns where raised relating to the shortage of athletics officials in Cheshire.

Alan Morris, the Officials Secretary, stated that although there are 130 registered officials in Cheshire, only around 50 officials are 'active' and committted year in, year out.

Clubs are being targetted first in a drive to recruit new officials in Cheshire.

Cheshire Athletics, are therefore starting a campaign to get new officials and it would be great if VRAC could yield more officials.

CCAA are putting in for Lottery Funding for a Photo Finish and it would be fantasic to get people trained up on it!!

If you or anyone you know would like to take the opportunity for this or numerous other roles, then please contact Lucy Burch or Alan Morris (Cheshire Officials Secretary) for information.
Spread the word!! There is an Officials course coming up!

It'd be great to see new people taking on the role of Athletics Official!! Competitions can't happen without Officials!

Many Thanks

More info:
We need more officials in Cheshire and there's an opportunity to take the first step towards becoming a qualified official on Sunday 18th November.
West Cheshire AC are hosting a Level 1 officials' course for Field Judges, Track Judges, Timekeepers and Starter's Assistants at Ellesmere Port Sports Village.
After the course you will just need to clock up experience at four athletics meetings to get your UKA officials' licence.
Full details of the course and how to apply for a place are on the England Athletics website HERE.
