Inter-Counties XC Championships
These were held on Sat 10th February in Loughborough.
Report from Andy Carter:
Another
outstanding day for the Club at the CAU Inter Counties Cross Country in
Loughborough yesterday with some top class performances !
The conditions can best be described as a quagmire - both for athletes and
spectators !
Club athletes came away with Individual Silver and Bronze medallists and a
team bronze featuring three of our athletes ( 4 to count ).
Holly Smith took a brilliant Silver medal in the U17 Women's race*,
leading from the start she had dropped to third at about 3k but came back
strongly to take 2nd.
Emily was 26th and Lucy 34th positions which helped the Cheshire team take
the bronze medal.
Holly Weedall
was the other medal winner taking bronze in a very competitive U13 race* -
always in contention and with only 5 seconds covering the top 3 at the finish.
Holly also took the UK Challenge title for the U13 Age group - Grace was 18th
and took 4th place in the UK Challenge standings - the Cheshire team came 4th.
The Club had a number of top 100 finishers - in fact 15 which is an excellent
achievement - Patrick was 21st* and Jake 65th in the U13 Boys ( Team finishing
7th ) Francesca was 17th in the U15 Girls ( ( Team 15th ) Sam 83rd in the U15
Boys ( Team 21st ) Ben 16th* and Alex 29th in the U17 Men ( Team 16th ) Cameron
30th in the Junior Men ( Team 11th ) Chloe D was 52nd in the Junior Women ( Team
5th ) Sarah 47th In the Senior Women ( Team 14th ) and finally Matt 86th in the
Senior Men ( No team )
