U11s Training & Membership -
VRAC U11s - Coordinator Jacky Thorn
VRAC do not accept members until they are 9 years of age.
There is currently a waiting list and prospective members will be added to it following their 9th birthday.
A list of U9s is not maintained.
If more information is required about the VRAC U11 group, please visit the U11 area on our website HERE.
Sunday Runs and Associate
Many VRAC U11s participate in the gentle Sunday runs from Delamere Forestís Linmere Centre meeting at 10:30.
Anyone from the waiting list who likes running may come along and join us, they will be looked after by U11 and other club coaches.
We suggest that they try us for 3 goes then join VRAC as U11 associate members.
This will enable them to run in competitions such as track and field events and cross country with other U11s but it will not escalate them up the waiting list for attendance at weekday training (not all applicants are interested in endurance running).
It allows us to capture and store personal, health and emergency contact details.
We appreciate that families may have siblings/children U9 who want to join in with the U11s for the Sunday run.
8 year olds with regular attending older siblings will be welcome to join us by prior arrangement with the U11 coaches.
Please do not bring younger children than this to accompany us on the run. If in doubt please contact Jacky Thorn.
When family members become 9 they can be added to existing family membership at no additional cost as associate members until a weekday space becomes available.
U11 membership forms are required and are available to download from our website. These should be returned to Jacky Thorn who acts as membership secretary for U11s.
It has not always been this way but we have to respond to changing times.
There is much greater stringency in relation to safeguarding than there ever used to be and we do our best to go above minimal requirements.
