More Excellent Performances at the National Road Relays
Another busy weekend with the National Road relays in Birmingham, although it has to be said that the weather was not kind to us!
But a big thank you to everybody who turned out to run and support the teams.
One thing to be noted is that Vale Royal were represented in every event (and with more than one team in some).
There are not many clubs in the Country who can claim that they had representation in all 8 races.
We can also proud be of the results we achieved, 5 top 20 finishes in such a well supported National event is a considerable achievement by a rural club with a fairly small catchment area.
Pride of place has to go to our U17 Mens team (Matt Sheen, Sam Whitehead and Elliot Bowker) who came away with a bronze medal, it was also brilliant to see both of our U13 teams coming in the top 15, a credit to the effort Pauline and Shaun have put into recruiting and training the group.
Individually everyone put their all in placing their team as high as possible but we must mention Elliot who got the 3rd fastest time of the day in bringing the club through to 3rd place.

Amazingly enough there is only one relay meeting left, this is the National Cross Country Relays in Mansfield on Saturday 2nd November, these are most peoples favourite races, they are shorter than the Road Relays and a lot more spectator friendly, so we are looking out for a really good turnout there and hopefully another successful day!
