VRAC Athletes Deliver Superb Performances at the ISA Nationals!

VRAC athletes did themselves proud at the ISA nationals, with every single athlete delivering either a gold or silver medal winning performance.

First up was Elllie Cushen in the Y7 1500m who had a fantastic silver medal winning race, and a PB of 17 seconds.

Next we had the Y10/11 1500m, where Jon Owen and Katie Gerrard both got silver.
Katie's race in particular was keenly fought with both 1st and 2nd being given the same time and both girls got a new national record, beating the previous record by over 4 seconds.

Then we had the Y8/9 1500m and Will Parsons delivered a great silver medal winning performance.

Ellie Jackson got gold in the Y7 hurdles, setting a new national record at the same time, and a silver in the 100m.

Bree Livesey got gold in the long jump, with a PB too.

Next up was Sam Denny, who took silver in the Y8/9 200m, in a very close race.

Then it was the Y7 800m and Ben Lee got gold and also set a new national record, beating the previous record by nearly 4 seconds.
Ben didn't then have long to recover before it was time for the Y7 200m, where he also took the gold.

The final events of the day were the 4x100 relays.
First up was the Y7 boys, with a team made up entirely of VRAC athletes - Jonny Dufty, Tom Butler, Ben Maxwell-Reid and Ben Lee, who took the silver medal.
Finally, Sam Denny made up 1/4 of the North relay team, who also took silver.

All athletes should feel very proud of themselves, they might have been wearing the navy blue vest of ISA North, but underneath we all know it was really a vest of royal blue and yellow!
