Vale Royal Athletes Star at Sportcity Multi-Events

A quartet of Vale Royal AC athletes impressed in the recent DASH Quadrathlon at Manchesterís impressive SportCity stadium on Saturday where in excess of 200 athletes gathered from across the North & Midlands to compete in this prestigious event.

Millie Nugent, Olivia Moynihan & Ellie Jackson performed in an extremely competitive U13 girls category with Ellieís seven year old sister Millie enjoying her maiden competition in the U9 category.

Each athlete had to perform a sprint, a jump, a throw and a middle distance run to make up the Quadrathlon.

Star of the show was Cransley Schoolís Ellie Jackson who was best in class in the U13 Girls category amassing an impressive 274 points across the four disciplines, taking the gold medal out of 44 girls in her age group beating the second placed athlete by a massive 40 points in the process.
Ellieís performance was all the more impressive being outright winner in three out of the four events claiming personal bests in the 800 meters and in the shot putt with a throw of 8metres 98cms (also extending her Club Record), and combined with very solid performances in the 100 metres sprint and long jump.

The ever improving Millie Nugent (County High School Leftwich) also impressed coming home in 8th place in her debut multi-event performance with PBís in three disciplines, narrowly missing a fourth in the 800 metres finale.

Olivia Moynihan of Hartford Primary, still with a further year left in U13 age group, came home in a creditable 28th place enjoying a seasonís best in the long jump and a big personal best in the shot putt.

U9 girl Millie Jackson from Davenham School, youngest competitor on the day, enjoyed the experience of her first athletics competition showing great determination to perform strongly with 4th place of 21 girls in the vortex throw.
