Junior Athlete of the Month for September

The award for September goes to.....
Louis Greenwood

At this time of year the track season is winding down and the cross country season warming up. We had nominations for no less than three athletes this month.

Megan Hough has been improving with some great performances in road relays and the first North Staffs XC league race.

Tessa McCormick too has worked hard and improved her 1500 PB by 4 secs ( 13 secs this Summer - and 32 secs on her 3k this year ). She also won the Senior Ladies Guilden Sutton Road race, and came 2nd in the North Staffs Senior and was our fastest runner in the senior relays and 30th fastest overall.

Well done Megan and Tessa.

However during recent weeks Louis Greenwood set 3 new club records for U15B and set 4 personal best performances.

At Warrington he threw 11.20m to beat Joe Cooper's 5 year old record and set a new personal best. He also established a new hammer throw record of 25.43m (also a PB). He got a new PB for high jump at 1.50m. Finally, on Bank Holiday Monday at Stretford he beat his own javelin club record with a throw of 37.95m.

Louis is now 4th in the NorthWest for javelin and 5th for shot!

Well done Louis!
