Junior Athlete of the Month
There were some excellent nominations for the first Junior Athlete of the Month award, but a clear winner has emerged and it's:
Her achievements for the month include:
At the Warrington Open meeting
on 1st of April she competed in two events she was introduced to by Geoff
Tomlinson with a view to her eventually competing in multi-events.
In the High Jump she won the competition with a jump of 1.30m, breaking the club record by 5cm.
She also won the 70m Hurdles with a time of 12.4sec putting her 3rd in the Power of 10 UK rankings.
This was her first competition as an U13 having just come up from the U11 age group!
She competed at Trafford on Easter Monday, winning the 70m Hurdles in a new PB of 12.33sec. She also won the 150m in 20.72sec.
The following Sunday she was at Wigan, winning the Long Jump with 4.16m, and the 200m in 29.0sec.
In the Cheshire League meeting
at Ashton-under Lyne on the 22nd she won the long jump with jump of 3.92m.
She also won the 100m with a time of 13.5sec. This time is in the top ten UK times for 100m for U13 girls.
Well done Ellie - this is a fantastic performance!
