Club Mark Status Achieved
Prestigious Award From Sport England
Vale Royal Athletic Club was officially presented with the Club Mark Status in October 2005 by the North West Regional Coordinator for Athletics; Michael Hunt.
The club appointed two members, Harry Evans and Neil Templeman to analyse systems in place at the club for the safety of athletes and to suggest improvements to ensure that the club is a safe, effective child friendly club.
Vale Royal Athletic Club are now an accredited Club Mark Athletic Club and will be eligible for further funding due to the fact the club have successfully completed the charter mark scheme.
Club Mark Status proves that the club has protocols and strategies in place to allow athletes to participate in athletics safely in a child friendly environment under structured supervision
The Club had to demonstrate nearly a hundred competencies via a file and a visit by two independent assessors who assessed the club
The competencies were listed under four main headings
1) Child
Protection
2) Competition
3) Coaching
4) Club
Management
The Club
successfully renewed its Clubmark accreditation in June 2009.
Sarah Friday of England Athletics
North West Region attended the
training session at Knights Grange on Tuesday 16th June to present the
certificate.
A
further renewal was achieved in 2013.
Sarah Friday again presented the certificate at a committee meeting on the
21st August.
The
accreditation process continued in 2016.
This time Sarah presented the certificate at another Knights Grange training
session on the 20th September.
CLUB MARK IS AN ONGOING
PROCESS AND WILL CONTINUE TO
EVOLVE OVER THE FOLLOWING
YEARS AS PART OF THE CONTINUOUS PROCESS
